Burglar & Intrusion Alarm Systems for Chicagoland Businesses and Homes

Most break-ins happen at night, through a back door or a ground-floor window nobody thought about. We design burglar alarms around those weak spots, install them with UL-listed technicians, and watch them 24/7 from our central station.

What a burglar alarm actually has to do

Strip away the marketing and a burglar alarm has three jobs. Notice someone getting in. Tell the right people fast. Keep working when someone tries to stop it.

That sounds simple. It isn't.

A cheap kit covers the front door and calls it done. A real intrusion alarm looks at every way into your building: the loading dock, the roof hatch, the office window facing the alley, the side door your staff props open on smoke breaks. Then it layers sensors so one missed point doesn't leave you exposed.

Who we install burglar alarms for

  • Retail stores with after-hours cash, inventory, and glass storefronts
  • Warehouses and manufacturing sites with open floors and multiple dock doors
  • Offices where equipment and client files sit unattended overnight
  • Auto dealerships with key rooms, service bays, and large lots
  • Homes that need protection without false alarms from the dog

The parts of an intrusion alarm system

Every system starts with the same building blocks. What changes is which ones you need, and where they go.

Door and window contacts

A magnet and switch that trip the moment a door or window opens. Your first line of perimeter detection.

Best for: every exterior door and operable window

Motion detectors

Passive infrared and dual-tech sensors that catch movement inside. Pet-immune models ignore animals under a set weight.

Best for: hallways, stockrooms, open floors

Glass-break detectors

They listen for the sound frequency of breaking glass, so someone smashing a window gets caught before stepping inside.

Best for: storefronts, glass doors, ground-floor windows

Control panel and keypads

The brain of the system. Handles zones, user codes, and entry delays, with a backup battery that keeps it running in an outage.

Best for: every system, one per protected area

Cellular communicator

Sends alarm signals over the cellular network, so cutting the phone or internet line doesn't silence your system.

Best for: any monitored site

Sirens and strobes

Loud enough to make an intruder rethink staying. Strobes help responding officers find the right building fast.

Best for: interior and exterior, per local code

What happens when someone breaks in at 2:14 a.m.

Here's how a typical after-hours break-in plays out at a business with an ASI burglar alarm and central station monitoring.

2:14:00

Rear door is forced open

The door contact trips instantly. The panel logs which door, on which zone, at what time.

2:14:30

Entry delay runs out with no code

The siren sounds and the panel sends an alarm signal over cellular and internet at the same time.

2:14:33

Our operator sees the signal

A trained operator at our UL-listed central station gets the alarm, your account details, and the exact zone that tripped.

2:15:15

Alarm verified, police dispatched

The operator follows your call list, confirms the event, and dispatches police with the specific entry point.

2:15:20

You get a text

You and your contacts get notified by text, call, or app. You can check the system from your phone before you're out of bed.

Wired, wireless, or hybrid: which one fits your building?

There's no single right answer. It depends on your building, your existing wiring, and how long you plan to stay.

We'll recommend the right setup during your free site assessment.
Type Best for Pros Trade-offs
HardwiredNew construction, large commercial buildingsNo sensor batteries to replace, very stableTakes longer to install in finished spaces
WirelessHomes, leased offices, finished retail spacesFast install, no drilling, easy to expand or moveSensor batteries need periodic replacement
HybridOlder buildings and system upgradesKeeps working wiring, adds wireless where neededNeeds a panel that supports both
Burglar & Intrusion

Fewer false alarms, fewer fines

Many Illinois municipalities fine businesses after repeated false alarms. And every false dispatch makes police a little less eager the next time. Here's how we keep yours down.

  • !
Right sensor, right spot: no motion detectors aimed at HVAC vents
  • !
Sensible entry delays: enough time to disarm without rushing
  • !
Hands-on training: every user learns their code and how to cancel
  • !
Verified dispatch: operators confirm before sending police when possible
  • !
Annual testing: we check every zone so worn sensors get replaced early

How installation works

No surprises, no upsell pressure. You'll know the equipment, the price, and the timeline before any work begins.

1

Site walk

We walk your property, find the entry points that matter, and talk through how the space is used day and night.

2

Written proposal

You get a clear list of sensors, zones, and monitoring options with a fixed price.

3

Install and test

Certified technicians install every device and test each zone with our central station before we leave.

4

Training and support

We set up user codes, show your team the app, and stay on call for service after handoff.

Burglar alarm FAQs

What's the difference between a burglar alarm and an intrusion alarm?

In practice, nothing. Both describe a system that detects unauthorized entry through doors, windows, or open space and sends an alarm signal. "Intrusion alarm" just shows up more often in commercial specs.

Will the alarm still work if someone cuts the power or phone line?

Yes. Every panel we install has a backup battery, and a cellular communicator sends signals to our station even if power, phone, or internet is cut. A cut line also triggers its own trouble signal.

Do pets set off motion sensors?

Not if the sensors are chosen and placed correctly. Pet-immune detectors ignore animals under a set weight, and smart placement keeps them from seeing furniture your pets climb on.

How do you keep false alarms down?

Correct sensor selection, sensible entry delays, user training at handoff, and verified dispatch. Our operators confirm an alarm before sending police whenever they can, which also helps you avoid local false-alarm fines.

Can you take over my existing alarm system?

Usually, yes. We service most major brands and can often take over monitoring and maintenance without replacing working sensors or wiring.

How long does a burglar alarm installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. Commercial installs depend on building size, number of zones, and integration with video or access control. You'll get a firm timeline in your proposal.
