Compliance & standards
Built for the codes commercial buildings answer to
Commercial fire alarm is one of the most regulated systems in any building — NFPA 72, the building code, local amendments, AHJ plan review, permits, and witnessed acceptance testing all apply before a single occupant moves in. And after that, the testing never stops. A system that merely "works" isn’t enough; it has to be documented, testable, and defensible.
After four decades as a UL-Listed provider — including 600+ bank projects — ASI designs fire alarm systems that pass review the first time.

Common questions
Commercial fire alarm FAQs
Can you replace our old conventional panel with an addressable system?
Yes — it’s one of our most common projects. We phase the changeover so your building stays protected throughout, coordinate with the AHJ, and complete testing and certification before the old system is retired.
Do you handle permits and AHJ approval?
Yes. We prepare drawings and submittals for plan review, pull permits, and schedule and pass witnessed acceptance testing with your local authority having jurisdiction.
Do you provide annual fire alarm testing and inspection?
Yes. We perform scheduled NFPA 72 testing and inspection and deliver organized documentation for your fire marshal and insurance carrier.
Can you take over monitoring or service of a system another company installed?
In most cases, yes. We evaluate the existing panel and devices, bring the documentation up to date, and move the system onto our UL-Listed Illinois monitoring center.
