Wireless & Cellular Alarm Systems for Homes and Businesses

No landline? No problem. Wireless sensors install fast without tearing up walls, and cellular communication keeps your alarm talking to our central station even when power, phone, or internet goes down.

What a wireless alarm actually has to do

A wireless alarm has to do everything a wired one does. Detect entry. Reach the monitoring station. Keep working when something goes wrong. It just does it without running cable through your walls.

The signal path matters most.

A lot of older systems still send alarms over a phone line, or over a 3G radio that went dead when carriers shut those networks down in 2022. Those systems look fine on the keypad. They just can't reach anyone. We pair supervised wireless sensors with LTE cellular communicators so every signal has a path out.

Who we install wireless and cellular alarms for

  • Leased offices and retail spaces where you can't open walls
  • Homes with finished drywall, plaster, or hard-to-reach attics
  • Businesses dropping landlines to cut monthly phone costs
  • Older buildings where running new cable isn't practical
  • Detached garages, sheds, and outbuildings far from the main panel

The parts of a wireless alarm system

Wireless doesn't mean fewer features. It means the same protection with a faster, cleaner install.

Wireless door and window sensors

Small battery-powered contacts that report every opening to the panel. No drilling through trim or walls.

Best for: exterior doors, windows, cabinets

Wireless motion detectors

Cover hallways and open rooms. Pet-immune models ignore animals under a set weight.

Best for: interior spaces, homes with pets

LTE cellular communicator

Sends alarm signals over the cellular network, so a cut phone line or dead router can't silence your system.

Best for: any monitored home or business

Dual-path communication

Sends signals over both cellular and internet. If one path fails, the other carries the alarm.

Best for: businesses that can't afford a gap

Supervised sensors

Each sensor checks in with the panel on a schedule. If one goes quiet, you get a trouble alert.

Best for: peace of mind on every device

Long-life batteries

Most sensor batteries last years. The panel warns you well before one runs out.

Best for: low-maintenance systems

What happens when a storm knocks out power and internet

Here's how a wireless system with a cellular communicator handles a rough night at a small business.

9:40 PM

Storm knocks out power and internet

The panel switches to its backup battery. Wireless sensors keep running on their own batteries.

9:41 PM

Our station gets a power-loss alert

The panel reports the outage over cellular, so we know your site is on battery power.

11:15 PM

Someone forces the back door

The wireless door sensor trips. With the internet still down, the alarm goes out over LTE.

11:15 PM

Operator dispatches police

Your alarm arrives like any other signal, with the zone and your call list, and police are sent.

6:20 AM

Power returns, system reports restore

The panel reports that power is back and recharges its battery. You see the full timeline in the app.

Landline, internet, or cellular: how should your alarm report?

How your alarm talks to the station matters as much as the sensors. Here's how the three options compare.

We test cell signal strength at your site before recommending a setup.
Type Best for Pros Trade-offs
Landline (POTS)Older systems still on a phone lineFamiliar, works with legacy panelsEasy to cut, phone lines are being phased out
Internet onlySites with reliable business internetFast signals, low costGoes down with your router or power
Cellular or dual-pathAlmost every home and businessHard to cut, works during outagesNeeds decent cell signal at the panel

Is wireless really as reliable as wired?

It's the question we hear most. Early wireless systems earned a bad reputation. Today's equipment is a different story, and here's what makes it dependable.

  • !
Encrypted signals: sensors talk to the panel securely
  • !
Supervision: every sensor checks in, silent ones trigger alerts
  • !
Jam detection: panels flag attempts to block wireless signals
  • !
Low-battery warnings: you hear about it long before it fails
  • !
Signal testing: we check every sensor and cell strength at install

How installation works

Most wireless installs are done in a day, with no drywall patching left behind.

1

Site walk

We walk your property, map entry points, and test cellular signal where the panel will go.

2

Written proposal

You get a clear list of sensors, communication paths, and monitoring with a fixed price.

3

Install and test

Technicians mount every sensor, test each one, and confirm signals reach our station.

4

Training and support

We set up user codes and the app, and handle battery swaps and service after handoff.

Wireless and cellular alarm FAQs

Is a wireless alarm as reliable as a hardwired one?

Yes, with modern equipment. Today's sensors are encrypted and supervised, so the panel knows right away if one stops reporting. Many of our commercial clients run wireless or hybrid systems.

How long do the sensor batteries last?

Most last several years, depending on the sensor and how often it trips. The panel sends a low-battery warning well before one dies, and we can handle replacements for you.

Do I need a landline for a monitored alarm?

No. A cellular communicator sends signals over the cell network, so you can drop the phone line and still have 24/7 monitoring.

My alarm uses an old 3G communicator. Does it still work?

Probably not. Carriers shut down their 3G networks in 2022, so those radios can no longer send signals. We can swap in an LTE communicator, often without replacing the rest of your system.

What if cell signal is weak at my building?

We test signal strength before installing. If it's weak, we can mount the communicator in a better spot, add an external antenna, or set up dual-path with your internet.

Can I take a wireless system with me if I move?

Often, yes. Wireless sensors can be removed and reinstalled at a new location. We'll check your equipment and help you set it up at the new place.
